ROSHN Green Initiative Center: A Catalyst for Sustainability

ROSHN Green Initiative Center

ROSHN Group, Saudi Arabia’s leading real estate developer and a PIF company, has on Wednesday launched the ROSHN Green Initiative Center (RGIC), a pioneering facility that aligns with the Saudi Green Initiative, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The RGIC aims to enrich ROSHN communities and the surrounding areas with more green spaces, through cultivating more trees and plants. The Center will also include a plant nursery and educational center for the public.

On the sidelines of the RGIC inauguration, ROSHN signed four cooperation agreements with national organizations to advance sustainability. These agreements will support RGIC’s green goals, as well as ROSHN’s efforts to foster environmental concepts, including sustainability, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing ecosystem.

The RGIC is part of ROSHN Green Initiative, launched on 93rd Saudi National Day to support national efforts towards the implementation of sustainability concepts.

Ahead of the 94th Saudi National Day, the ROSHN Green Initiative has accomplished its first goal, by launching 93 sub-initiatives. These include planting over 32,000 seedlings, 25,000 mangrove trees, and 4,300 other trees across the Kingdom. More than 3,000 volunteers and 75 schools have participated in these efforts.

The RGIC will be capable of cultivating 2,000 trees annually, owing to its cutting-edge technologies. Moreover, the Center will be a learning hub, by offering educational and interactive programs to the public and organizations that support Saudi Arabia’s sustainability programs.

All the RGIC trees will be planted in ROSHN communities and certain areas to increase the green cover and preserve the environment, in line with the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI).

Driven by its commitment to developing humanized communities, ROSHN integrates sustainability principles into all its operations and projects. This includes conserving energy and water, managing waste, promoting recycling, improving mobility, connecting communities, and enhancing well-being.
