Undertaking its first international investors’ outreach programme, the new BJP government in Odisha led by CM Mohan Majhi is all set to woo investors in Singapore.

A high-level delegation led by CM Mohan Majhi left for Singapore ahead of the ‘Utkarsh Odisha: Make-in-Odisha Conclave 2025’ scheduled to be held in January next year.

While talking to reporters on Saturday, CM Majhi said that Singapore is popular for chemicals, logistics, financial services, food processing, petrochemicals, green energy, shipbuilding, semiconductors and other sectors; hence, several big companies have set up their units there.

“When investors will think about investing in India, Odisha will be the first choice for doing business. We will discuss with the business heads and make them aware of Odisha’s resources and skilled manpower and industrial policy and organise a road show,” said CM Majhi.

Senior Odisha government officials will reportedly explore potential collaborations with top industry leaders, investors, and policymakers in Singapore.

The CM further said that the Odisha team will ensure that the outreach programme yields results for setting up new industries and creating job employment in Odisha.

All will depend on the visit by Odisha CM and his team in attracting significant investments to the state and play a crucial role in bringing the latest innovations in technology, manufacturing, and skill development.

The delegation from Odisha will hold deliberations with senior officials of Singapore and also connect with industry associations and the Odia diaspora.

Apart from industries and investments, the visit is expected to ensure strong diplomatic ties and foster collaboration in areas such as skill development, technical education and other allied sectors.
