With Jordan Love still working his way back from an MCL sprain, the Green Bay Packers are expected to once again have Malik Willis under center on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news, noting that Love was at practice this week and is eyeing a potential Week 4 return against the Minnesota Vikings. Rapoport also reported that Love has not officially been ruled out yet.
With the Packers designating Willis as their starting quarterback on Sunday, it means his second game starting under center will come against his former team.
The Titans used a third-round pick on Willis in the 2022 NFL draft after a prolific career at Liberty, though he never saw much playing time in Tennessee. He played just 10 games across his two seasons, recording 350 passing yards and three interceptions.
While his time in Tennessee was short, Willis clarified earlier this week that he has no disdain for his former team.
“No, I could care less, man,” Willis said, per ESPN. “I think I got paid the whole time I was there. I’m more than blessed for the opportunities given me. They brought me into this league, whether those guys are there or not. That organization, they took a shot on me. … They did a great job by me.”
Green Bay acquired Willis in late August in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Willis led the Packers to a 16-10 win against the Indianapolis Colts in his first start for Green Bay last week, though it wasn’t a very memorable offensive performance. He had just 122 passing yards and a touchdown, though he was efficient as he completed 12 of his 14 passes. He also picked up 41 yards on the ground.
