Tom Brady was back on the call in Week 9, covering the Detroit Lions’ 24-14 win over the Green Bay Packers alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt for Fox.
The Lions and Packers dealt with sloppy offensive performances in rainy conditions, as both teams were held below their overall scoring averages entering the contest. Still, Detroit was able to maintain a 14-point halftime lead and gain some separation atop the NFC North.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love was listed as questionable with a groin injury entering the game and dealt with inconsistency throughout the contest.
Love threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown just before the end of the first half, resulting in Brady discussing the potential to get too aggressive leading into halftime.

With Green Bay needing to gain one yard on second down in the fourth quarter, Love threw two incomplete passes before a fourth-down run by Josh Jacobs couldn’t move the sticks. Brady disagreed with the Packers’ approach.

Fans assessed the commentary of the seven-time Super Bowl champion on social media.
Dan Hanzus @DanHanzusTom Brady doesn’t seem mad at Jordan Love … he’s disappointed.
Max Toscano @maxtoscano1Tom Brady is trying so hard not to lay into Jordan Love for playing football this way.
We gotta go back to teaching this stuff out of players at the lower levels
Connie Carberg @ConnieScoutsLove these explanations by @TomBrady on what quarterbacks need to do – you can see Green Bay completely blew this on all three downs & Jordan Love not taking the easy play. Tom Brady called it perfectly.#Foxsports #NFL
Lauren Elizabeth🌹 @xLauren_MxTom Brady really didn’t sound sold on Jordan Love lol
Nick Baumgardner @nickbaumgardnerTom Brady’s Peyton Manning-level winces/uncontrolled anger whenever a QB starts down a dark path rather than throwing the ball away is the best part of his analysis package IMHO
With the loss, Love and the Packers fell to 6-3.
