The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Foundation has launched an ambitious 1 Billion Economic Trees Planting Campaign designed to accelerate climate action, expand Nigeria’s green economy, and create sustainable income opportunities for communities.
Unveiling the initiative, President of NACCIMA and Chairman of Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), Engr. Jani Ibrahim, said: “This campaign represents our commitment to climate action, environmental sustainability, and wealth creation for future generations.
“Planting economic trees will not only restore degraded land but also provide jobs, food, and industrial raw materials, directly contributing to Nigeria’s $1 trillion economy vision.”
According to a statement issued by the foundation on Tuesday, the program will engage youth, women, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as local communities, working alongside Ministries, Departments and Agencies, development partners, and the private sector. The effort will also align with the Great Green Wall initiative.
“The NACCIMA Foundation calls on all Nigerians, especially the private sector and civil society, to join hands in this national effort to create a greener, wealthier, and more sustainable future,” the statement added.
