Every so often you can discover some truly excellent bargains when you browse around, and charity shops are venues where you’ll frequently stumble upon unexpected gems. One individual who understands this perfectly is Abbie Walsh Greenfield who recently visited a thrift store in the UK.
Being a massive Doctor Who fan, she felt driven to share her discoveries on TikTok, and it’s sent devotees of the television programme into something of a frenzy. It appears you can secure some incredibly cool memorabilia in the most improbable of locations and, furthermore, you can actually pick up some fantastic finds at absolute bargain prices.
Abbie recently recorded her shopping adventure online, and it’s left some people rather jealous. It’s not the first time a small charity shop has caught people off guard.
In the clip, Abbie said: “I’m just at Shua on High Street in Barry, and they have all of this Doctor Who stuff in the window. Some of this stuff is definitely coming home with me.
“Let’s have a little look at what they’ve got. They’ve got Doctor Who Confidential, we’ve got some Big Finish. I bought that the other day. What else have we got? Loads of DVDs.
“There’s so much in here. They’ve got the complete second series of Torchwood as well. Children of Earth. Oh my goodness me.
“We have this stack of Vortex magazines. I don’t know if this is sold as a set, I’ll have to ask. Anything with Christopher Eccleston on is absolutely mine.
“I’ve spotted this, which I absolutely need in my life. Series Four Doctor Who Confidential, and the complete fourth series of Sarah Jane Adventures brand new in the packaging.”

She went on to browse through additional DVDs and Vortex magazines, selecting the ones she wished to purchase. There were also several other DVDs she discovered in another charity shop nearby.
Abbie acquired the items earlier this month, so it’s unclear what remains on the shelves now. However, what’s evident is that Doctor Who enthusiasts were left utterly astonished by the quantity available at the charity shop.
Indeed, Abbie was eager to highlight just how excellent the shopping venue is. In the comments section, she stated: “It’s a great charity shop and I have purchased many Doctor Who items here over the years! From my remote control K-9 to my 10th Doctor Funko Pop. It’s a good place to check!”
One individual commented: “Very jealous. All that is awesome. We don’t have that in the United States.” Another responded: “This is so relaxing to me.”
A third also replied: “Don’t think I’ve ever seen that Doctor Who Confidential DVD before! That’s a cool find!” Meanwhile, a fourth also remarked: “SJA was the highlight!” One more also chimed in with: “I need to visit the UK.”
Someone else had a question for Abbie, and asked: “Did they charge you for Vortex? They’re a free magazine via Big Finish.”
In response, Abbie explained: “I know they’re free, but you can’t back order any, only access free online. I like having physical, and I don’t own any of these! People charge for them on eBay and Vinted etc, and it’s for charity.”
For those unfamiliar, Shua is a charity shop located in Barry. You’ll find it at 97 High Street, or you can get in touch with the store for additional information.
