As fans of the ITV soap, the actor plays DC Kit Green, with the character making his Weatherfield arrival last year, having been tracked down by his biological mother, Bernie Winter.

Kit hasn’t won many people over during his time on the cobbles so far, but it’d be fair to say his number one enemy is Mick Michaelis.

Mick, played by Joe Layton, made his own arrival to Weatherfield earlier this year alongside wife Lou and their children. They set up home on Mawdsley Street, the other side of the ginnel behind the home of Kit’s sister Gemma Winter-Brown and her husband, Chesney.

It was soon revealed that Mick and Lou had a history with Kit, and flashback scenes confirmed they were friends as children, before Kit let Mick take the full blame for a horror firework attack on the local shop, which left the shopkeeper’s wife with third-degree burns.

It was also revealed that Kit and Lou slept together while Mick was behind bars and it has since been confirmed that Kit is the biological father of tearaway teen, Brody Michaelis, and not Mick.

Now, Mick and Kit are set to come face-to-face for the first time since Brody’s paternity was confirmed, as Mick breaks out of prison, where he’s behind bars for killing Kit’s innocent colleague, PC Craig Tinker.

After getting news that his family are falling apart, the dramatic episode set to air on Monday (July 14) follows Mick as he orchestrates his prison break and plans to do a runner with Brody, Joanie and Shanice.

Kit will come face-to-face with Mick once again(Image: ITV)With the desperate killer having little to lose, he poses a danger to anyone who gets in his way. His first port of call is Weatherfield High but when he realises that his daughter Joanie has been taken home from school by Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) he heads for the cobbles.

As Sally offers Joanie a tour of Underworld, while the factory girls are at the pub, she has no idea that Mick has arrived on the street, closely followed by Kit. What has Mick got planned and will Kit be able to stop him?

For those yet to watch the episode, we can tease that Mick and Kit will end up in a huge scuffle and appearing on ITV’s Lorraine on Monday (July 14), Jacob revealed that the injuries sustained were almost real due to co-star Joe’s accidental punching blunder.

Speaking to stand-in host Ranvir Singh on the ITV show, the soap star said: “Me and Mick, Joe Layton who plays him, all our scenes together, we’re pretty much fighting all the time and you only have half an hour to do the fight scenes with the fight coordinator, so there’s no time for error in those sort of scenes.

“He literally lamped me on the chin, and as a true thespian he reacted straight away, like, ‘Oh, sorry’. I wish he’d just carried on… My jaw was hurting for the rest of the day.”

Kit’s fate after his altercation with Mick has previously been teased. Spoilers for the rest of this week’s episodes of Corrie confirm that after facing life-saving surgery Bernie and his girlfriend Sarah Platt sit at his bedside.

Will Kit pull through? And with no sign of Brody since last night, Bernie’s fears increase – has Mick made his escape with his family?
