Despite the “Yellowstone” spin-off “The Madison” having not premiered yet, Paramount has confirmed the Michelle Pfeiffer-led series has been renewed for a second season. In addition, “Lioness” has scored a third season pick-up with Nicole Kidman locking down a deal to return. [Source: Deadline]

Coven Academy

Disney+ and Disney Channel have greenlit the dramedy “Coven Academy” about a group of young witches in New Orleans. Tim Federle created the series which follows a trio of teenage witches-in-training who are bound by destiny to guard their city against dangerous, ancient forces.

Malina Pauli Weissman, Tiffani Thiessen, Malachi Barton, Louis Thresher, Jordan Leftwich and Ora Duplass star while Brendon Tremblay, Swayam Bhatia and Keegan Connor Tracy have recurring roles. [Source: THR]

Boots

Netflix has set an October 9th premiere date for the late legendary producer Norman Lear’s final series, the comedic coming-of-age drama “Boots”. Miles Heizer stars in the project, which was inspired by Greg Cope White’s memoir “The Pink Marine”. Jennifer Cecil serves as showrunner.

Heizer plays closeted Cameron Cope and his straight best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh) as they join a diverse group of recruits in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1990. Max Parker, Vera Farmiga, Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, Angus O’Brien, Dominic Goodman, Kieron Moore, Nicholas Logan, Rico Paris and Blake Burt co-star. [Source: Deadline]

Joseph of Egypt

Amazon Prime Video has officially ordered the Biblical drama “Joseph of Egypt” to series with production now underway in New Mexico. Adam Hashmi (“Bridgerton”) has the lead role of Joseph while Alexander Siddig, Babak Tafti, Daniel Peera and Iris Bahr co-star.

In the iconic Old Testament story Joseph (Hashmi), betrayed by jealous brothers and defies all expectations and rises to incredible power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. But when his past catches up with him, he is confronted with the ultimate test. Craig Wright is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. [Source: Variety]
