Sweet and Savory Marinated Green Beans

Ingredients

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed2 cups cider vinegar2 cups water2/3 cup sugar3 garlic cloves, crushed1 small red onion, sliced2 teaspoons mustard seed2 teaspoons dill weed1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes1 teaspoon salt

Directions
In a large saucepan, bring about 6 cups water to a boil. Add green beans; cook, uncovered, just until crisp-tender, 2-3 minutes. Remove beans and immediately drop into ice water. Drain and pat dry. In a large container, combine all remaining ingredients, stir until sugar is dissolved. Add green beans; cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.
