“Reacher” star Alan Ritchson is teaming up with “Need for Speed” director Scott Waugh on the action feature “Runner” which will shoot in London in March for a release late 2025/early 2026. Ritchson, Todd Garner Dan Spilo, Mark Fasano and Jeffrey Greenstein produce.
Miles Hubley and Tommy White pen the film about a high-end courier with mere hours to transport an organ to save a young girl, but the head of a crime syndicate wants the organ for himself. [Source: Deadline]
Untitled Spike Jonze Series
“Being John Malkovich” and “Her” director Spike Jonze’s sci-fi TV series at Netflix is reportedly no longer moving forward, even as previous rumors suggested an early 2025 production date was being lined up.
No story details ever emerged about the series which has the likes of Joaquin Phoenix and Brad Pitt rumored to star at one point. [Source: Deadline]
Is This Thing On?
Bradley Cooper has set up his third directorial effort “Is This Thing On?” at Searchlight – following his 2018 “A Star is Born” remake and last year’s “Maestro”. Plot details are under wraps as the film is still in early development.
Actor/comedian/host Will Arnett co-wrote the script with Mark Chappell and both Cooper and Arnett are set to co-star in the film and produce it along with Kris Thykier. Cooper is rumored to be starring in Armando Iannucci’s next film “Growth” which films early 2025. [Source: Deadline]
Cruel Intentions
Prime Video has premiered the trailer for its remake of the coming-of-age thriller drama “Cruel Intentions” based on the cult classic 1999 film – itself an adaptation of “Dangerous Liaisons”. Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman showrun the series which launches November 21st.
The story follows two ruthless step-siblings (Sarah Catherine Hook, Zac Burgess) at the elite Manchester College in Washington, D.C.- where reputation means everything. Doing whatever is necessary to preserve their power and reputation, they set out to seduce the daughter (Savannah Lee Smith) of the U.S. Vice President.
