Lisa Interpolates Sixpence None the Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’ on New Single

Lisa is interpolating a Nineties classic on her new single. On Thursday, the Blackpink star released her solo track “Moonlit Floor,” which reimagines Sixpence None the Richer’s 1997 song “Kiss Me” into a catchy dance-pop track.

“Moonlit Floor” — co-written by Jessie Reyez and Ryan Williamson — takes the original Matt Slocum-penned lyrics, “Kiss me beneath the milky twilight/Lead me out on the moonlit floor,” and switches them up to “Kiss me, under the Paris twilight/Kiss me out on the moonlit floor.”

Across the track’s two-and-a-half minutes, Lisa sings to a “green-eyed French boy,” coyly playing into rumors that she’s dating Tag Heuer CEO Frédéric Arnault. (Neither the businessman or pop star has confirmed the supposed relationship.)

The new single follows the Thai star’s collaboration with Rosalía on “New Woman” in August, and her comeback track “Rockstar” in late June. Lisa made her solo performance debut at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, playing the two new songs. She also debuted “Moonlit Floor” at Global Citizen 2024 in New York City on Sept. 28.

The musician made her solo musical debut in 2021 with “Lalisa” and “Money.” Since then, she’s focused on Blackpink as they recorded, released, and toured 2022’s Born Pink. Lisa has also been busy filming her acting debut in The White Lotus.

As for her Blackpink sisters: Jisoo finished filming two Korean films over the summer; Rosé signed a global solo deal with Atlantic Records last week; and Jennie is set to drop her first single, after signing with Columbia Records, “Mantra,” on Oct. 11.
